SIP#28 No Christmas

Hello All, and welcome to challenge 28 at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!  This week's challenge is to make a card that is "anything but Christmas".

We are forecasted to get 7-9 inches of snow within the next two days, so I decided to totally think ahead to SPRING!! :)  We haven't gotten nearly as much snow as we usually have here in northern Wisconsin by this time of year, so I have kind of gotten spoiled.....not looking forward to snow.

The base of my card is Pool Party, as well as the ink used to stamp the Hardwood stamp to make the fence. The wreath from the Circle of Spring is stamped in Pear Pizzazz. The wreath is colored in with Wink of Stella, Copic Mint Green marker, and Pistachio Pudding SU marker. The "hello spring" is stamped in Pool Party.

I popped up the fence and the wreath with dimentionals. Then I added a few extra flowers and finished them off with some "bling".

Hope you enjoy my card. I will probably be shoveling snow as you read this!!  :)
Best wishes for a safe and happy 2016.

StampinFriendsChristmas

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Christmas Edition!!!  :)

If you have arrived here from Twila Davis' page, thanks for continuing on to mine!!
The previous button will take you back to her page if needed.

http://stampalittlelonger.blogspot.com/2015/12/stampin-friends-blog-hop-december.html

Guest hoppers for this month are:
and
I m sure you will enjoy their goodies as you hop along.

This month's hop is all about Christmas, which is my favorite holiday and my favorite time of year!!  I love that my friends and I use Christmas as an excuse to get together to bake and visit. I love that my family is all together on Christmas Day.

I am finally getting around to wrapping gifts, and found that I need more tags, so I whipped up a few more, and my card was inspired by one I found on Pinterest. I love ornaments, and my tree is all red and green.

The card base is Old Olive, the papers used for the ornaments are from a K Company pack that I purchased at a local store.  I punched various sized circles in a piece of white cardstock, then punched out circles a size larger from the patterned paper and placed them under the white. I drew the hangers with a marker, the ornament topper is punched from the Modern Label punch. The sentiment is from the newer Six Sayings set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I added some sparkle with a few sequins.

On to the gift tags.....

The Santa suit tag is made with Cherry Cobbler, with a black strip for his belt, and a white strip for the bottom of his coat. I cut a tiny square out of silver glitter paper to make a shiny belt buckle, the buttons I stamped using the eraser on my pencil which I inked up with Memento black ink.

The tree tag is cut from craft paper. I drew the tree on with an Old Olive marker, cut a star out with my Perfect Pines framelit.

The snowman is white cardstock, with a Pool Party hat. I added some sparkle with some silver ribbon on his hat, along with an orange button to match his nose.  I again used my pencil eraser to make his eyes and mouth, drew on a carrot for his nose.

All tags are 2 inches wide, and cut out with the tag topper punch, but any shape would work for the top of the tags, I think. Some coordinating ribbon, and you are done!!  :)

I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas goodies.
I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy 2016.

SIP #27 Thank You

Hello Everyone, and welcome to the 27th challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  This one will be a two week challenge, as we all get ready for Christmas.  I have been super busy with last minute orders for Christmas gifts and making items for local craft fairs, I haven't even started my own Christmas cards yet. And I have barely made a dent in my baking.  Good thing I have some time yet!!!

As I said this one is a two week challenge, and it is for a thank you card.

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/12/sip-challenge-27-thanks/

This one will be sent off to my aunt Marge in Milwaukee.  Each year I make her a wreath to hang on her door, and she always sends me a card in return.  This year she sent me a early birthday card with a check in it with a note to "use this on something for YOURSELF".  My plan was to put it in my checking account, but then there was this sweater at Shopko, and this pair of earrings at a little shop downtown.....   lol

My card is made with snowflakes and a sentiment from "....like a snowflake" from Unity, the reindeer is also from Unity and was in a Reindeer Grab Bag. He is adorable!!  The reindeer is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and colored in with my endless collection of pencil crayons. The sentiment is also Chocolate Chip, the snowflakes are stamped in Gumball Green and Tempting Turquoise. I placed some bling in the big turquoise snowflakes, and tied some twine at the top.  I have to say, he is pretty festive. I love these colors.

Please take a moment to enter the challenge.
Have yourself a Merry Christmas.  Hope Santa is good to you!!

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-bi

I need a few more Christmas cards, so this is what I made......

I love the brick embossing folder from Stampin Up.  I put it on a precut card base from The Paper Cut. I used the Hardwood stamp to make a window frame, and the new Peaceful Pines and framelits to make the trees.  The sentiment is from Six Sayings.

Hope to see you enter this week's challenge!!
Make it a great day!!

SIP25Quick Christmas

Hello all!! Happy December!!  Wow, I can't believe December is upon us already.....

Time for challenge #25 at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  This one is a Card Maker's Choice.....

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-aT
This works well for me, as I have lots of projects going on.  Had a friend who told me she wishes she had the patience for making cards......so I told her I would show her several cards she could make, with one set, in about 30 minutes or so......
So, I cracked open an old favorite, Get Your Santa On, and away we went.....

I still love, love this set!!  It is so much fun.  She seemed happy with what we created.... I told her we could add some embellishment, if she liked, but she liked them as is.  I thought they turned out super cute, as well.  Hopefully she will come over to "play" again. It is always more fun to create with friends.

Now I must get out of my Christmas creating zone, as my friend Cathy needs some birthday cards.

Make it a great day everyone!!!!

SIP#24 color challenge

Good Tuesday Morning All!!!  Welcome to the 24th challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  This week is a color challenge..... Please take  moment to join us and enter a card!!

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-ax

Although these colors could be a great twist on Christmas colors, I needed a break from 'all things Christmas', so I went a different direction.......

I pulled out an "old" favorite, the Butterfly Basics and the thinlits.  The dsp background is from the Cherry on Top stack. I layered it on top of a case of white cardstock, after I stamped on it with the ferns and the flower from Butterfly Basics. I cut a large circle in the dsp with a circle die. I added some bling to the butterflies, and DONE!!

Pretty simple idea, but I like how it turned out!!  Now back to Christmas cards....sigh....

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!!  Safe travels if you are headed out to share the holiday with friends or family!!!

Stampin Friends Thanksgiving Hop

Welcome to the November blog hop for Stampin Friends. Thank you for joining us!!

This month's guest hoppers are Wynne Grob, Kim Smith, and  Steph Jandrow. Hope you enjoy their creations along with everyone else's.  If you need to back up to Cindy Waldroff's page, the following button will take you there......

http://stampingindixie.blogspot.com/2015/11/what-great-holiday-stampin-friends-blog.html

This month the theme is Thanksgiving.  I love the reminders this time of year to take some time to be thankful for things I have. I think I get so wrapped up in day to day concerns and tend to forget the positives at times.

I decided to go a little funny with my card and project. I just purchased this adorable turkey from Unity Stamps and had to put him to use!!

My mom used to always refer to Thanksgiving as "Turkey Day", so this makes me smile a bit and think of her.

We have a great little craft store locally (well, it's an hour away, but that's as close as I get one) that carries all kinds of fun papers and buttons and such. I usually go in with one or two items I am looking for, but I never seem to leave with just those few things. I know the button came from there, and I think most of the paper did, too.  They host a constant "garage sale" in the back corner of the store where you can put items you no longer need or use, and when others buy them, you receive that amount in store credit.  It is a fun way to get some new toys when my funds are low!!  :)

The card base is Crushed Curry, the white layer was run thru my Bigshot using the Decorative Dots folder. I sponged a little Crushed Curry on to the white to make it blend a bit as I didn't like it just stark white. The sentiment I cut out to be a little banner.

For my project, I made a matching treat holder.  The turkey parts are attached to the cup with dimentionals.  I think he is just adorable!!  :)  So festive!!  He would also work great if you have the fry box die, but, as orange is my favorite color, I just had to use this cup!

Also, this month, if you email Elizabeth at happystamper508@gmail.com with the favorite color of each of the 12 bloggers and comment on each blog, you will receive a little crafty prize in the mail from each of us as a thank you.

The Next button will take you on to Elizabeth Thatcher's page. I am sure she has something wonderful in store for you!!

Thank you for stopping my blog.
I hope you each have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
Lisa

SIP #23 sketch

Good Tuesday Morning All!!  And welcome to challenge #23 at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  This week it is a sketch.....  Hope you all take a moment to join us.....can't wait to see your take on this idea.....

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-ah
I liked this one right away, and ended up going in a slightly different direction with it than I originally imagined.....

I started with a totally different idea, but then knew I wanted to make use of the "Thankful" from my Six Sayings set, so came up with a different card entirely. Crazy when that happens!!

I used a piece of dsp from the Color Me Irresistible pack. I colored it with Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, and Cherry Cobbler. The base is Baked Br Sugar, as is the piece I stamped the sentiment on and embossed in gold. I added a piece of gold ribbon before attaching the sentiment with dimentionals. Then I cut leaves in coordinating colors with a die from Impression Obsession.

Hope you like my idea. And I hope each of you has a Blessed Thanksgiving!!!

SIP #22 Free For Fall

Hey hey hey!!  It's a Free For Fall at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week!!!  Hope you take some time to join us!!

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-91

The challenge was to make a 3D project, if we were up to it.  I have been making some treat holders for the usual round of Fall/Christmas craft fairs, and thought I would try to come up with something new that I haven't done before. So, here is the result......

I chose Chocolate Chip cardstock (and now want choc chip cookies!!). The bottom is the SU Fry Box, on the front of which I punched a bunch of pieces with the Word Window punch and adhered them with some Tombow glue to the front of the box. Then I trimmed the top with Baked Brown Sugar trim, stamped a sentiment from Picture This, cut the sentiment out to be a little banner, and trimmed it with a piece of Flower Trim.

The head is the Top Note die folded in half. The eyes are: white - 1 1/2" punch, baked br sugar - 1 1/4" punch, choc chip - 3/4" punch. The orange nose I freehanded.

I filled him with a baggie of one of my fall favorites, peanut butter flavored candy corn!!  Yum.  Turns out that I overfilled the bag, so I am snacking on a few as I type this.  :)  hehehehe.......  The bag is tied with a piece of Baked Br Sugar thick twine.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog!!
Hope you take some time to join us.  :)

Make it a great day!!

SIP #21 CAS Christmas

Hello, and welcome to challenge #21 at Stamp, Ink, Paper.

I was SUPER excited when Justin posted this one!!  I love, love, love Christmas!!

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-91
This was very exciting to me, cuz, have I mentioned, I love Christmas?!?!  :)

Here is what I came up with. I used the Northern Flurries embossing folder on some white cardstock. Next I taped off the borders on one of the sentiments from the Six Sayings hostess set (it was just too big for the space when I tried it with the whole stamp inked).

I love this sentiment!!

There is a touch of Wink of Stella on the snowflakes of the card mounted on the white base. The ink on both and the base of the other are Wisteria Wonder.

I love how they turned out.  A great addition to all the goodies we are making for the upcoming craft fairs in our area.

Hope you enjoy my card.
Make it a great day!!
Lisa

PS.... I love Christmas!!  :)

CYCI#92 sketch

Hey all!!  Thought I would make a quick card for this weeks Can You Case It challenge.....

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2429

Love this sketch!!  And here is what I came up with.....

I found this adorable little snowman stamp when I was digging through my Christmas bins to start making goodies for upcoming craft fairs. I just love him, he is so cute!!  The base of my card is white, the next layer is from the All is Calm collection. The snowman is Uptown Rubber Stamps, and the sentiment is from the Endless Wishes set. The snowman is stamped on white and cut out using my NEW stitched dies from Gina Marie Designs......and they are fab!!

I also used the snowman on this little guy....

We had bought my mom a white birch tree for Mother's Day years ago, and it hasn't come back to life the last few years, so Titus cut some discs out of it for me, and I made my siblings and I some mementoes out of Mom's favorite tree.  My sister had tears in her eyes when I let her pick one out, explained what it was from, so I consider it a win!!  :)

Hope you like my card.
Thanks for dropping by!!
Make it a great day!!

SIP 20 - color challenge

Hello and welcome to challenge #20 at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!  Wow, we are up to #20 already, I can't believe we have been at this for 20 weeks!!

This week's challenge is a color challenge.....

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-8Z

I must admit, I do not use a lot of gold on cards, I usually just don't care for it.. That said, I kinda like how it turned out on my card.....it did add a little sparkle!!

I got a call from a friend requesting some birthday cards, and this was the first one she chose, so this card is gone before I even am getting my post written.  lol  I like when that happens!! I need to remind myself, it is not necessary for me to always love the cards I make!!  :)

My base is Chocolate Chip (shhhhh.......I don't have Early Espresso, don't tell the boss), the next layer is Blushing Bride. On the white layer I stamped images from Gorgeous Grunge in Choc Chip and Gold, and stamped the tiny flower from Butterfly Basics in Blushing Bride. The gold butterfly is also from Butterfly Basics, heat embossed in gold. The larger butterfly is Blushing Bride, using the die from the Butterflies Thinlits. Behind the butterflies is a little twine.

Hope you enjoyed my card, and also that you take a moment to enter this challenge!!  I would like to see what you do with your gold......maybe it will inspire me to use it more!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Make it a great day!!

Planter - card in a box

Hello All!!

I was inspired by a card I saw made by Bronwyn Eastley that was entered in to a challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  This is my first attempt at it.  I will definitely do another, this idea is so cute!!

My planter is Crumb Cake paper, stamped with the Hardwood stamp in same color.  The flowers are Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight, the leaves are Mint Macaron.

The four corner "posts" are 3 1/2" x 1", scored at 1/2"; the "side panels" are 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 6", scored at 3".  The inserts (3) for inside the planter are 2" x 4", scored at 1/2" from each end.

I also made a bird, to put into the flowers, but forgot to attach before I took pics, so you will have to use your imagination!!  lol

Make it a great day!!

SIP #19 Halloween Tic Tac Toe

Welcome to Tuesday..... and another challenge from Stamp, Ink, Paper!!  This week is a Halloween Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  Use any combo across, down or diagonally to come up with your card.

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/10/sip-challenge-19-tic-tac-toe/
I couldn't decide what to do, so I ended up going a little crazy... lol.

First, I made the little tote.  This uses all the options along the top row....sequins, pumpkin and orange. My sister is visiting her Goddaughter over Halloween weekend, and I thought she can take this along as a treat for Taylor.

Next, I made the card with the little witch.  This card uses all the options down the right side of the tic tac toe board.  I bought the SU stamp "If the broom fits" and just love it, so had to come up with some new idea to use it on.  :)

Lastly, I made the ghost card. This uses all the options down the left side of the chart. I recently received these ghosts from a friend, and knew I had to put them to use. They are just so cute!! The sentiment is from "Six Sayings" by Stampin Up.

Hope you enjoy my creations and can find some time to join us this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  Happy Halloween!!!

Make it a great week!!!

Stampin Friends Halloween Blog Hop

 http://www.tinascropshop.com/2015/10/stampin-friends-halloween-blog-hop.html

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Halloween Blog Hop.  If you have arrived here from Tina's page, thank you for continuing on to me.  Isn't Tina fabulous??  I will admit I am big fan of her work!!  And she is a sweetheart as well.  :)

We have two guests hopping along with us this month, so please make sure you stop by the blogs of
Cindy Waldroff and Maria Willis
and enjoy their creations.

The minute I saw this stamp in the holiday catty, I knew it had to be mine!!  It just makes me laugh.  :)  We do not get a lot of trick-or-treaters here in the woods, so I don't like to purchase candy, cuz then I will just eat it..... So, in keeping with the theme of the card, I thought I would create a broom.  I have also seen them made with licorice or candy filled cello bags, but I liked the pencil idea.  Also plan to offer my sister some to put on the desks of her fellow teachers.

The base of my card is Old Olive, the pattered paper is from We R Memory Keepers and is called Bewitched.  The next layer is some orange burlap sent to by the fabulous Andrea Tucker. The image is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. I stamped a second image and cut out the sentiment to make a banner, and one broom, which I colored with Stampin Up markers. Both were attached to the card with dimentionals.  I made a little loopy bow with some twine, added a greenish button, and done!!

For the "broom", I cut a strip of dsp 2 1/2" by 12", scored it at 1/2" along the long edge, and cut strips up to the score line. I used sticky strip just above the score line to attach the dsp to the pencil, and finished it off with some twine.

I really like how this card turned out, and know I will be inking that stamp up a few more times before Halloween.

The wonderful Elizabeth Thatcher has come up with a fun game for this hop, so if you comment on each blog post along the hop, and then e-mail Elizabeth at happystamper508@gmail.com with a list of each hopper's favorite stamp set, you will be entered to win a $25 gift card good for Stampin Up products from Elizabeth.  You have until midnight on Sunday, the 18th to enter.  Good Luck!!

My favorite stamp set is..... "Lovely as a Tree". An oldie, but a goodie that I return to often.

Next up is Cindy Waldroff..... I am sure she has something wonderful waiting for you!!  Enjoy hopping along.

Make it a great day!!
