Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #3

Good Tuesday morning!!!  This week's challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper is a color challenge.  With Independence Day looming at the end of the week, I was inspired to do something a bit patriotic.

First, just let me say, I really like these colors together.  :)  And, I am still wondering why I immediately went patriotic with this combo.......  lol

I started with a card base of Smoky Slate, followed by a white layer. On to the white layer is some Bermuda Bay on one side, and my starburst on the other made up of embossed stars on some Smoky Slate and some Real Red dsp. The strips for my starburst are 1 1/2" x 4", then cut on the diagonal. The white stars I punched out with my small star punch, and popped up with dimentionals.

Please join our challenge this week!! More info can be found at www.stampinkpaper.com

Happy 4th of July!!  Have a safe and fun holiday.  And a huge Thank You to all who have served our great country and made our independence and freedom possible. May God Bless each of you.

CYCI #76

Good Monday morning all!!  This week on canyoucaseit.com is a color challenge.  I was kinda excited to make a card for this one, as it is using the new Stampin Up in colors..... Perfect opportunity to try to get myself to use some Delightful Dijon, which, I have to say, is not a favorite. I do like how it looks paired with the Watermelon Wonder on my card, though.

I used my Blooming with Kindness set, a little linen thread and a small button.  This one is quite simple, didn't take long at all.

Hope you enjoy!!  Have a great week!!

Stmp Ink Paper Challenge #2

Happy Tuesday All!!  And welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #2.  This week's challenge is an awesome sketch (I have to say, sketch challenges are a favorite of mine!!).  I took this opportunity to play with some new Unity stamps I hadn't inked up yet, along with some patterned paper I picked up on my mini vacation last week.  My new metal "L" was also among my purchases, lol.

I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock with my Darice honeycomb folder, on to which I placed a smaller piece of above mentioned patterned paper, wrapped with some black ribbon.  Using my new stamps from a set called Everyday Adorable from Unity, I stamped the bee image and bee-lieve sentiment in black and cut them out with my Chalk Talk tag die.  I then stamped "in yourself" on to the patterned paper, and tied some striped ribbon to my tag wrapped in black/white twine. I attached the tag with some dimentionals and adhered it all to a base of white cardstock.

Be sure to enter the challenge at www.stampinkpaper.com
.....I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Have a great week everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get Well Soup

Hello!!  And welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge #1, part 2.  :)   To extend the first challenge for another week, we are offering up another "designer's choice" card.  I am still playing with some of my new Stampin Up goodies, including the new Get Well Soup stamp.  It is super cute!!

I also needed to use some of the new In Colors and dsp.  Yes, NEEDED to use.  lol  I can't help myself......the Cherry On Top dsp is just too cheerful not to play with.  For the card, I started with a base of Bermuda Bay. The next layer is part of the dsp stack, as is the layer on top of it. I stamped the image on to white paper, masked off the soup mug and stamped a background with a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge, using Crushed Curry ink.  I colored in the cup with a pencil crayon, and tied Crushed Curry ribbon around the top layer. Also added a few candy dots.

For the little soup holder I used Watermelon Wonder cardstock measuring 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 and scored it at 2, 2 1/2, 6 and 6 1/2. Also scored it at 1/2" along the longest edge to form the box bottom. I attached a piece of the Cherry On Top dsp to the front (2 3/4 x 3 1/4) and then I created a tag for the front using the Get Well Soup, which I again masked off to use Gorgeous Grunge for a background in Cucumber Crush. I attached some bling to the tag and some of the Watermelon Wonder lace trim, attached the tag with dimentionals.  Perfect as a prize for someone with a summer cold.

Be sure to check out all the other designers on this fabulous team, and enter your card at Stamp Ink Paper .  Thank you for checking out my card.

CYCI 73

My latest box of goodies from Stampin Up arrived yesterday....yay me!!  Along with items from the new catty, I also ordered Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride ink and card stock, so I guess entering this week's Can You Case It challenge was meant to be.  :)  Also in the box of goodies was "Choose Happiness".  I have been wanting this set for some time now, as I love the little bird......so I needed to pop that open right away as well.....

This week's challenge is a color challenge using Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and black.  I haven't made a triple time card in months, so I had an inkling to do another. My white layers measure 5.25 x 4, 3 x 4.25, and 2 x 3.25 inches. On the white I stamped the flower from Choose Happiness in Blushing Bride and the adorable little bird from the set in Sahara Sand. The white layers are backed by layers of Blushing Bride cut an eighth of an inch larger, the base of my card is black.

I stamped the sentiment from the set in black, on white cardstock, layered on black cardstock. For a little dimension, I added a strip of Sahara Sand Trim, which I tied with a little piece of twine and strip of black ribbon.  My friendly little bird, and the sentiment are both attached with dimentionals.

Hope you enjoy my card.  Take a look at www.canyoucaseit.com and enter the challenge for yourself.

Have a great rest of the week!!

SIP 1 - Getting to know you challenge

Welcome to Week 1 of the  Stamp Ink Paper Challenge!!  I am honored to be a part of this talented Design Team.  Be sure to check out all of my fellow designer's cards and enter your card into the challenge!!  http://stampinkpaper.com/

It has been rainy, rainy, rainy here the last few days, although somehow I did manage to fit a sunburn in between raindrops....oops....  Plenty of time inside though, to figure out my card.  This week's challenge is a designer's choice.  In trying to make something that reflected my style, I went straight to a few of my favorite things (now I have Julie Andrews singing in my head).  I love to fussy cut, color and do several layers on my cards, so I incorporated all of those things......well, and caffeine, I love me some caffeine!!  lol

I started with a base of Baked Brown Sugar, layered with a piece of Afternoon Picnic DSP. On top of this is a small piece of Baked Brown Sugar, punched along the edge with an ek border punch. I topped this with some First Edition DSP. The coffee cups and sentiment are from Perfect Blend stamp set, the cups I stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and fussy cut them, colored them with a pencil crayon. The band of the cup was stamped on Coastal Cabana DSP and fussy cut. The ribbon is the Coastal Cabana from the SAB catty. The sentiment is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar on very vanilla and mounted on a scalloped circle of Baked Brown Sugar.  The cups and sentiment are all "popped up" with dimentionals.

Hope you enjoy my card, and be sure to enter the challenge!!  Have a great, crafty week!!

Planters, Planters, Planters

Been busy building this spring!! Although I hope many of them sell, I want to keep them all!!  But, I just don't have enough flowers.  :)  And, if he sells some, he has money to invest in new ideas.....and our vacation!!  :)

just for you.....

While I wait impatiently for my items from the new Stampin Up catalog to be delivered,,,,,,I have been feeling the love for some Coastal Cabana lately, even though it is now retired.... Over the Coastal Cabana base is a layer of white, then coordinating dsp. I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana scrap with a 'wordy' Cuttlebug embossing folder ran through my Big Shot. To the bottom I attached a piece of coast cabana ruffle trim. On a small square of white I stamped the Lotus Blossom in Coastal Cabana, the stem is Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and punched with the word window punch, layered over the Modern Label punch.  Hope you like it.  :)
