SIP54

Hello!!  And welcome to Challenge 54 at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!

I like this color combo..... had lots of ideas for it right away!

This is what I ended up doing.

The base is Old Olive, as is the dsp layer.  I am loving the new Jar of Love stamps and matching dies!! I stamped the jar and stems in Old Olive, and stamped a few of the blossoms in Daffoldil Delight and Pumpkin Pie (I don't have Tangerine Tango, so had to improvise!!).  I stamped extra blossoms, the sentiment, and a few bees, on some scrap paper, and cut them with the coordinating dies.

I  applied some of the extra blossoms with Tombow, some with demensionals.  I then punched a half-circle in the top and bottom of the card with my hole punch and added some twine.

Hope you enjoy my card.  It was a nice challenge to get back in the swing of things after our vacation.  I am still so exhausted, I haven't even uploaded the hundreds of pictures I took yet!!  Maybe tomorrow.....

Hope you can find some time to join in this week's challenge!!
Make it a great week!!

SIP Case Us

Welcome to challenge 53 at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!

This week, we want you to CASE us.  I love to see what kind of spin others put on designs I have made...... so I thought this would be a fun idea, and luckily Justin agreed!!!

Here is what  came up with.....

I needed a thank you card for my aunt. I will be on vacation this week, thanks, in part to her.  She knew how much  needed a break, and contributed to my vacation fund, as a very early Christmas gift, so I can go!!  Montana here I come!!  :)

Growing up, we went out west a lot. It was one of my mom's favorite places,  When I graduated high school, I worked in Yellowstone National Park for four years.  I did everything from cashier, to gift shop, to Night Auditor....... it was great!!!   Many years later, my younger sister went out to give Yellowstone a try after breaking up with a boyfriend and wanting to leave a job she hated.  She fell for a guy, and ended up staying out there, and getting married.

Less than a year after her wedding, they were in a car accident.  My sister and her stepdaughter were killed instantly, her husband and stepson spent about a week in the hospital, both needed surgeries. So, a sad part of my trip will be a stop at the cemetery, but it will be nice to "chat" with the girls again.

So, be warned, my next blog post will probably be filled with pictures of mountains, waterfalls and such!!!  I like to take LOTS of photos!!!

Have a great week!!

SIPyear1

Hello, and thanks for stopping by!!!

Can you believe it is the one year anniversary of the challenges at Stamp, Ink, Paper??  Wow, that went fast!!!

This week's challenge is all about you......do what you like.  I have a hard time with this type of challenge, lol, as I don't think I could pick a favorite of anything if I tried!!  I have way too many cool things to play with.

I recently ordered this beautiful stamp set from Unity.  I just love the flower.  I used a Stampin Up sentiment with it, as I am filling an order for 25 "thinking of you" cards, and really like this thought.....

The card base is Pool Party, the dsp layer is SU dsp in Wisteria Wonder. The dsp layer and the sentiment are cut out with my Gina Steimel stitched dies, which I will admit are used A LOT in my creations.  I fussy cut the flowers, and tied a bit of Wisteria Wonder twine around them. They are colored with copic markers, and applied to the card with dimensionals.

This week, in honor of one year of fun and creativity, we would like to thank our participants with a little giveaway.  So, hop on thru the Design Team's creations this week, and then enter a card in the challenge to be eligible to win.

There will be three prize packages, one for entries from Australia, which will be given by Carolyn. The other two prizes for other entries will be bits of goodies from each of the others on the team.

This is the prize I will be contributing..... The stamp set is from Unity, and the dsp cuts are Stampin Up.  Best of luck in the giveaway!! Remember, just enter a project into the challenge to be in the running for some goodies!!

By clicking below, you will move on to Carolyn's blog next.......

Thanks for stopping by!!
Make it a great week.

SIP51Sunsets

Thank you for stopping by to check out this week's Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge!!

This week the theme, as you can see, is sunsets...... And, we will not discuss how many tries it took me to get this card to look like what I had in mind.....  lol

The card base is Basic Gray, the dsp layer is from, of all things, the Have a Cuppa dsp stack. The image is stamped in Basic Gray and is from Pink Ink Stamp Co. I masked off all but the sky and used Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist and Real Red to sponge the sunrise (yes, I am a rebel, and prefer mine to be a sunrise! Don't tell the boss!!) The water, sand and roof are colored with copic markers.

I wanted the lighthouse to be in business, so I used a touch of Wink of Stella marker in glitter white to create a beacon.

The dsp and image are both cut out using stitched dies from Gina Steimel.
The image is attached to the dsp with dimentionals. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Hello" and is stamped in black.  I gave my friend Andrea the choice of with or without sequins, and so sequins it is!!  Silly that I even bothered to ask her, she is crazy sequin lady!!!  lol

Hope you enjoyed my creation, and can find some time to join us this week.
Make it a great day!!

Chicken In

I seem to have a chicken fetish lately..... lol.

This is another chicken card, and one of my faves so far!! It is so simple and quick, but SO cute!!

The base is Real Red, next is a layer of black cut out with my stitched dies, topped with the white layer cut with the same.

The image is from Raisin Boat, the sentiment from Crackerbox Palace. I purchased both at a local stampin event that I go to every spring.  I gave my chicken a touch of color with some markers, and I fussy cut him out and popped him up with some dimentionals (which is hard to tell on the picture).

Hope you like him!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Make it a great week!!
