ButterflyWishers

Have you ever made a card that stuck in your head?
Once I had it done, it was nice, but I kept thinking of things I would have done differently. So, this was my shot.......

The base of my card, the stitched layer, and the big butterfly are all Baked Brown Sugar.  I miss that color and have to admit, I have a stash of it, much like I will be doing with Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss when they retire this year.

The bit of dsp is from the First Edition collection from several years ago. The Hardwood background and the sentiments are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, and the small butterfly is stamped in Tangelo Twist. I sponged the edges of the pieces in the same colors.

The sentiments and layered butterfly were applied with dimentionals, with the twine attached to the back of each sentiment.

I finished it off with a flower from the retired Rose Trim, which, yes, I am also hoarding.  :)

I found a pic of my first one..... this one was in Crumb Cake, and done a bit differently.....

No offense to this guy but I like my new version SO much better!!  :)

Thanks again for stopping by!!
Make it a great day!!

ClassAct

My sister is a high school English teacher. She has had a college student observing her class for this past semester. The young lady's stint is up on Tuesday, so Adalia asked if I would make a card she could tuck a gift card in for this student.

I will probably make a few others so she has some options to choose from, but really who (or should I say whooo?) can resist this little guy?

The card base is Pool Party. The orange is Tangelo Twist, cut out with my stitched die, as is the white layer. On to the white layer, I took the colors of copics I used to color my image and tapped little dots all over the paper to create a coordinating backdrop. I stamped the sentiment to that layer, and fussy cut my image and applied him with dimentionals. Lastly, I added a few sequins to finish him off.....

The sentiment and image are from Unity Stamps and is called Class Act Owl.

I hope she likes it.  :)

Make it a great day!!!

SIP44lighthouse

Welcome to our 44th challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!
It is an inspiration challenge...... do whatever this photo inspires......

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-j6

I love lighthouses!!  I have been known to plan vacations around them.  :)
Therefore I was excited to see this photo.  Must admit the first thing this photo inspired was not a card idea....... it was a desire to go on vacation!!  lol

But, once I got over that distraction, here is what I came up with......

The card base is Crumb Cake. The dsp is from the Adventure stack from last year. The images are from the retired SU set "Calm Seas".  I stamped them all in black, colored them in with copics, except the sky around the lighthouse which is sponged with Coastal Cabana. Then all the images were cut sing my stitched dies and my Big Shot.  I wrapped some twine around the top of dsp layer and added a button. The dsp layer and smallest circle image are popped up with dimentionals.

Now, here is some proof about my lighthouse obsession.....
These are all from our vacation in 2014 in Upper Michigan....

I like to walk along the water and pick up rocks.... A habit I got from my mom.

I have to be sneaky about getting Titus in photos. Neither of us like our picture taken!!  This is Mackinaw Point Lighthouse.

This one is Crisp Point Lighthouse. The road to get to it was horrible, but I would do it again!!  Beautiful spot!!

This one was a two mile hike, but also worth it!! Au Sable Point.

This one is only accessible by boat, so we had to go on a tour cuz I really wanted to see it.  :)  Grand Island Lighthouse.

And last year we went up to Superior, Wi for a quick weekend away and went out to the Wisconsin Point Lighthouse. Again. lol  It is funny how even though I have been out there several times, I still love it, still find it relaxing.....

Hope you enjoy my card idea.  Please take some time to join our challenge this week.

Make it a great day!!

MOJO443bee...

I don't think I have entered a challenge at Mojo Monday before, but, as we all know, I can't resist a fun sketch when I see one......

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2016/04/mojo-monday-443.html

And this is where I ended up.....

The card base is Crushed Curry. On to the white layer I used a mask I made to sponge a square of yellow, topped it with a banner, also Crushed Curry, and embossed with a honeycomb embossing folder. My top-most square is a retired dsp of multi-colored honeycombs. The image and sentiment are Unity stamps, from an "Everyday Adorable" set I have.

I finished it off with some sequins.

Thanks for buzzing around my blog....  lame, I know!!  :)

Make it a great day!!

CYCI#115HayChickie

This week's Can You Case It challenge is using the colors red, yellow and black....

http://canyoucaseit.com/

Is it weird that I immediately thought of a farm animal??  lol

Titus has a niece that is a 'farmer chick', and he had asked me to make her another card. My first one for her was a pig, cuz she loves pigs, so I wanted to go a different route.  Saw the color challenge and.... boom....  lol

Card base is black, Real Red is next layer. It, and the white are cut with my stitched dies. The sentiment and images are from "Our Craft Lounge", and are stamped in Memento black. I did my coloring with copic 'Lipstick Red', and SU's 'Yoyo Yello'.

The chick is fussy cut and popped up with a dimensional.

Hope you enjoy my take on the color challenge!!
Make it a great day!!

SIP43sketch

Welcome to challenge #43 at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!  This week we have my favorite kind of challenge.....a sketch.....

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-ix

I have had this awesome dsp from Andrea Tracy-Tucker that I have been hoarding. Thought it would be perfect for a card for one of my aunts who is always calling to check  in, see how I am doing.  And she likes to cook.....  lol

My card base is Pool Party. The solid layer is Daffodil Delight. The solid layer and the dsp layers (all from same retired dsp collection) are cut with my stitched dies.

I love, love, love to color and fussy cut, but this image of the measuring spoons (from Unity Stamp Co) gave me and my mad skills at fussy cutting a run for my money!!  lol

The image and sentiment are from the Unity set "PUN in the Kitchen".

Hope you enjoy my take on this week's challenge.....
Please take a moment to join us!!

Happy crafting!!

Owl Be Darned

A few week's ago, I got to travel to civilization (Green Bay) and do some shopping. Found these cute photo frames, and have been contemplating what to use them on, My acetate order from Amazon came the other day, so........ shaker card time!!

I love this image and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. So cute!!! The image is colored using copics. The base of card is Pool Party (which seems to be a 'go-to' of mine lately), the wood grain is a piece of dsp I had in my stash. The photo frame was purchased at JoAnne Fabrics.  The flowers are made using the Botanical Builder dies, and are cut in Daffodil Delight.  A few candy dots to finish off the flowers.

I cut a piece of acetate and attached it to the back of photo frame and sprinkled in some sequins from Hobby Lobby. I attached it to the image and card with some foam tape.

Tah-dah..... Cute little card.....

Make it a great day!!

Unity sketch challenge

I liked the Unity sketch challenge as soon as I saw it.  As I have stated in the past, sketch challenges are my fave!!  But, for some reason, I struggled a bit with this one...... my card turned out nothing like I originally had in mind!! But, that's ok.  I like how it turned out!!  :)

The sketch......

And my card......

The base is Smoky Slate. The patterned paper is from retired SU dsp pack.  The stamp is, of course from Unity, and the little embellishments were purchased at JoAnne Fabric, I believe.  I blame Unity Stamp Co for my love of wooden embellishments.  I have received several as 'freebies' in my Unity orders, and got addicted.  :)  The image is stamped in Basic Gray, colored in with markers, cut out with my Gina Steimel stitched square die, and popped up with dimentionals.

Thank you for stopping by!!
Make it a great day!!

CYCI#114sketch

Thought I would give this week's Can You Case It sketch challenge a try.....

http://canyoucaseit.com/
I thought of these Unity Stamp Co cupcakes right away!!

My card base is Pool Party. I embossed the white layer with my Happy Birthday embossing folder.  The cupcakes and sentiment are from Unity's "so glad you were born...".  I stamped them in Tempting Turquoise. The cupcakes and the happy birthday on the embossing folder are colored with a copic marker. I put a touch of Wink of Stella on the cupcakes and popped them up with dimentionals.

Thank you for stopping by.
Make it a great day!!

SIP#42 colors

Hello there!!  And welcome to the 42nd challenge at Stamp, Ink, Paper!!  This week we have a fun color challenge for you.....

http://wp.me/p6hi7Y-hY

This one was a challenge for me..... because the only color of this bunch I have is Bermuda Bay!!  :)  So, shhhhh, don't tell, but I snuck in some imposters....

My card base is Bermuda Bay (which is a favorite of mine, so fun to feature!!). On to the white layer, I stamped the image and sentiment from the retired SU "For the Birds" in Midnight Muse. I stamped it again on to a piece of scrap, fussy cut out the image and used it to and mask off my image. Then I used one of the splatter stamps from SU's "Gorgeous Grunge" around it in Bermuda Bay.  I don't have a pale blue, so I used a copic  marker in Cool Shadow to color in my bird and add some more spatter.  Then added a few sequins for some pizzazz......  The white layer is cut out using one of my Gina Steimel stitched dies.

Thanks for stopping by..... Hope you can find time to join us in this challenge!!

Make it a great day!!
