SIP118gcholder

Welcome to this week's Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  This week, make us anything but a regular A2 card. It can be a shaped card, a fun fold, or a 3D project......

I decided to make a gift card holder.  The way things are going this fall, I am not sure if I will get to participate in any of the local craft fairs, which makes me a little sad, cuz I really enjoy them.  But I would still like to have a few things on hand, for peeps I know that usually look to me for gift ideas and stocking stuffers.

The base of the holder is Cherry Cobbler cardstock. It measures 9 5/8" x 4".  Score it at 1 3/4", 4 1/2", 5 3/4", and 7".

I used a large oval punch to cut out the piece where the gift card goes. And then used paper snips to trim out to about 1/4" from each edge.

The belly band is 1" x 11". I like to have my holder fully decorated, then put the band around it, just so I don't make it too snug.  :)

The patterned paper is from some scraps I had in my bin.  I love to use up my odds and ends on projects like this!!  I save so many scraps, it is nice to find a use for them.

Hope you can find some time to join this week's challenge.

SIP117watercolor

Sigh......  Watercoloring and I are not friends. I have tried a few things, and was not happy with any results, so I stopped trying.  Well, then Andrea has this brainstorm that we needed to do a watercolor challenge.  Some days I wonder why I like her.....  lol.

Well, after a few struggles, I came across a few happy accidents......

The first background I made by touching ink pads to my acrylic block, spritzing it with water, and laying paper over the top.  The colors are Tim Holtz's Distress Ink 'Mowed Lawn' and 'Mustard Seed'.
The stamps are from Endless Creations.

For this second one, same stamps, but the inks are from Stampin Up. I believe I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, and Crushed Curry.

This last one, is the same as the above.  I inked this paper, spritzed some more water on the acrylic block, then did the above paper. These images are from the retired Summer Silhouette set, the image is a random little fella that I am not sure where it came from.

Hope you like these.  Now that I have found a system that works for me, I think I will do more.

Hope you can find some time to join in this week's challenge.  I would like to see what you come up with, and what techniques you use!!

Make it a great week.

SIP116Fall

Thanks for stopping by to check out this week's challenge for Stamp, Ink, Paper!!

This week the challenge is a Clean and Simple fall card.  I really love CAS cards. I especially love that, even though I am nursing a migraine, a CAS card didn't hurt my already aching brain too much.  lol

The sentiment is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps. The image is from Unity Stamp Co.  I don't know why, but sunflowers always make me think of fall. I stamped both with Chocolate Chip ink, and colored the image with copic markers. The base is Crushed Curry cardsotck. The image and sentiment are on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Another thing I love about Clean and Simple cards is how quickly they come together,  I must admit, this card only took me a few minutes to put together.  The biggest chunk of time was taken up digging through my Unity Stamps to find the one I had in mind!!  :)

I hope you can find some time to join in!!  I would love to see what you come up with.

Make it a great day.

SIP115colors

Welcome to this week's Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge.
This week, we have some awesome colors for you to play with.

I must admit, I struggled a bit with this one.  My first several ideas just didn't pan out.
So, I decided to play with my "Crazy" friends!!  :)

I colored my critters with copics. Cut them out with their matching dies. Applied them to the cards with dimensionals.  The splatter spot on the dog card are from Timeless Textures. The dots on the dog card are from "You are Here" and the sentiment, which cracks me up, is from "Riley & Company".

The dots on the bird card are a retired Stampin Up item, as is the patterned paper.  I cut the layers out with my stitched dies from Gina Steimel.  The sentiment is from "Crackerbox Palace".

Hope you can find some time to join in this week's challenge.  I would love to see what you all do with these colors!!

Make it a great week!!
